We are go! With magic of a different kind in this one.

I have started the process of formatting The Conflicted Conspirator: The Fight for Redemption!

I’m doing the paperback first, as I believe it will be easier than the ebook. I need both the PDF of the paperback and the EPUB files for advance reader copies, so it’s all good, no matter where I begin.

I’m glad to be started. That’s always my big hurdle–getting started.

There will be magic of a different kind in this one. In terms of the physical appearance of the book’s interior, that means less magic–it won’t look as snazzy as my second editions of the Herezoth trilogy. But it will be clean, functional, and easy to read. That’s all that matters.

I’ll leave the real magic to the story. And if you’ve read the Herezoth trilogy, this one might take you a bit by surprise.

It’s got magic, for sure. Zalski is still a sorcerer. There are other characters who aren’t sorcerers but have magical powers of different kinds that they make use of.

However, this book is different. It’s more character-driven than magic-driven, especially seeing how it tells the story of the early days of Zalski’s reign–before the big magical battles really start.

I’m hoping that won’t upset readers. Verony’s story is BEAUTIFUL, and I just HAD to tell it. As long as I specify to ARC reviewers that it’s very character-driven and make sure they are ok with that, it should go well.

As for other readers who pick it up, I’m a bit worried that they’ll expect something more magic-focused and not review it as highly as a result. The reality is, it’s a redemption story first and a fantasy story second. I’m perfectly fine with that, and I guess that’s the most important thing.

In fact, I am ecstatic with how this book came out.

Stay tuned for a COVER REVEAL QUITE SOON and forthcoming announcements about how to snag a digital ARC.
