I haven’t posted an update in a while, so I figured I would let you know what’s going on in my world and what my current projects are.
They are all prequel and book three related!
As I announced a couple of days ago, Book three of the Herezoth trilogy, The King’s Sons: The Fight for Legacy, will launch Nov 1.
I need to get front and back matter, a finalized description for the back cover, some blurbs, family trees, and other book three-related things ready for September 1st.
I will also need to go through and approve changes and address comments from my proofreader when I get book three back from her.
As for the prequel . . . It shows the early days of the League. I am pretty much out of development edits for it and moving into the line-editing stage. I am loving the story, the character arcs, and pretty much everything about it.
Considering book one starts in media res during a magical civil war, I’m still not quite sure how I managed to write a prequel about the start of the Crimson League that tells a complete story in its own right. But my pantser-self pulled it off. It’s a redemption story, and it’s beautiful.
Around the time I get book three back from my proof-reader, I’m hoping to send it off to my beta reader.
I’m glad writing is in good shape, because we’re in busy season at my day job and they just moved into something of a new position at work, so I’m more drained than normal at the end of the work day and have less energy and focus for Herezoth-related endeavors, sadly. Hopefully that will prove short-lived!
