My love/hate relationship with blogging

I very much have a love-hate relationship with blogging.

  • I feel like it is theoretically useful, even necessary, to have a blog as an indie author.
  • But no one really comes over here, so it feels pretty useless most days. That’s not to complain or whine, it’s just a fact.
  • Blogging has been a great exercise in consistency and discipline, and a good way to experiment in writing and try some different things out.
  • It can be a real chore to write a daily blog post, or to play catch up and keep at least 3 or 4 days ahead where scheduled posts are concerned.
  • I do like the structure of blogging daily
  • But I’m always going back and worth as to whether it would make sense and cut back a bit, and maybe schedule 3 or 4 times a week instead.

It’s very much been a rollercoaster, so I’m proud of myself for publishing here consistently through the ups and downs over the last 200+ days. For now, I’m planning to continue daily posts.

And hopefully, things will get both more fun and more interesting as we approach the release of “The Magic Council: The Fight for Home” next year. So if you are reading this, thank you for joining me on this journey 🙂

If there are any particular things you’d be interesting in asking me to blog about, please let me know! Especially if it regards my novels, but also if it doesn’t.

I’d definitely be open to suggestions, and seeing that only a handful of people drop by, I’m not going to be flooded with requests. That means I can gladly accommodate your suggestions.

  1. Well, now that you’ve said only a handful of people visit, you know that you’re going to suddenly be inundated with a thousand visitors’ requests 🙂 In all seriousness, I understand what you mean. I have mixed feelings about my blog. I’m proud of the work I’ve put into it and the responses I get, but sometimes it feels like talking to an empty room. All I can really say at this point is hang in there and keep pushing forward. Hard work pays off eventually!
