My latest small win: first sale from an Amazon ad

As any creative type could tell you, it’s HARD out there. Even with a quality product, it’s hard to get attention, hard to get heard, and even harder to make any kind of sale at all.

That’s why it’s important to celebrate small wins. Today, I’m super excited that after doing some research and setting up a new Amazon ad campaign, I think I may have made my first sale off an Amazon ad.

I say “may have” because it was a Kindle sale, and the ad is on the paperback (that’s what people suggest to run the ad for). If someone clicked the ad, then went to the Kindle version from the paperback screen and bought my book for Kindle, it won’t register as a sale in the ad campaign stats.

But given that sales had been all but stagnant, and the ad campaign is getting some clicks, it’s plausible to assume this sale came from the ad campaign.

That’s what I’m going to do, because I need the small win right now. A sale is a sale. Figuring out how to run Amazon ads effectively is a win, a step in the direction I want to be moving.

So, yea! This is a good thing, and I’m going to low-key celebrate it.

  1. That’s great news! Every sale, every bit of attention your book gets, is a victory. Congratulations!
