This song was written for and featured in the film version of Christopher Paolini’s “Eragon.”
I never saw the movie. I read the book, and liked the story, but I’ll be honest–I thought it was so poorly written that I couldn’t bring myself to continue the series.
Despite all that, I have ALWAYS loved this song, and have always connected it to the members of the Crimson League–it came out right as I was writing the first draft of the novel back in 2008 or so.
“The Crimson League: The Fight for Hope” is Kora’s story one on one level, but I prefer to think of it as the story of the League, my plucky resistance movement fighting together to find the strength to keep on.
The music and the lyrics are just a perfect fit. You can listen to it here on Youtube.
“You’re not alone, together we stand. I’ll be by your side, you know I’ll take your hand. When it gets cold and it feels like the end, there’s no place to go, you know I won’t give in. No I won’t give in.”
